Hybrid Structure Innovation Limited (HSI) is Nigeria’s foremost manufacturer of modular facilities. Our company operations began late 2004 providing rapidly deployable modular neighbourhood banking or cash centre facilities called QuickSpace^TM.



Working with the fast food, banking and telecommunication industry sub-sectors, the company has discovered that these sectors share similar facilities deployment challenges which the QuickSpace^TM products provided solutions for.

The challenges are met thus:

  The product could be deployable on existing properties of organizations or in tight and densely populated areas.
  
• Speedy on-demand rollout potential:
  The product could be produced in batches in a short time.
  
• User flexibility:
  The product could be moved from location to location to suit commercial considerations.

Early 2006 we began an in-house product development program aimed at applying our modular building system expertise towards solving the residential affordable housing challenges facing Africa.

Nigeria alone has a housing deficit of about 17 million homes which is growing at about 3% annually according to recent United Nations reports and produces about 20,000 units per year. In the past this sector had remained dormant due to high cost of finance and materials, lack of social mortgages and weak purchasing power of the people to mention a few.

The existing conventional block and cement housing construction methods aren’t able to produce homes fast enough, hence our foray into the sector with our modular housing solution.

Our solution is called Easycrete^TM, which is a concrete-based modular housing system suitable for Africa’s residential affordable housing market. It addresses the following issues:

The technology was licensed through our US-based technical partner, and entrusts the development of the entire African market space to our company. Our objective for the residential market has been to replicateour earlier achievements of speed of deployment, capacity for mass production and cost effectiveness of products registered with our QuickSpace^TM products. It has been successfully and extensively deployed in countries including Nicaragua,Venezuela and Porto Rico.
